Adopt a Classroom

At the Annual Meeting of the Bellevue Park Association held on the evening of June 12th in the Community Building, I reported that the Bellevue Park Board of Directors had approved the Association's continuing support for a third year of collaboration with the Harrisburg Public School Foundation through the Foundation's "Adopt a Classroom" program.  In this program, private organizations like the Bellevue Park Association award grants of $500 to elementary school classes in Harrisburg Public Schools to promote academic enrichment and program development. Over the past two years, supported entirely by money voluntarily contributed by our neighbors in the Park, we have been able to support three classes annually.

On Monday evening, 25 people attending the annual meeting pledged $1,220 toward our continued participation in this program.  The average pledge was just over $48.  If you'd like to contribute to this good cause--in any amount--please contact Steve MacDonald at macdonal@lvc.edu.
